Best Electric Shaver Usage Tips When a person gets the best electric shaver they aren't really sure how to use it. You probably have grown up watching your father use a regular razor and don't really know much about the electric version. Well, there are specific things that you need to do to help get more out of your shaver. Caring You obviously have to care for your shaver and one of the most neglected tasks people do is not using the lubricant on the metal surface. When you finally got your shaver you probably noticed a little bottom of liquid. That has to be put on the metal razors after you use it. It is there to help keep the blades sharp and prevent them from getting dirty/rusty. Obviously this is important because you don't want to have rusty and dull blades being rubbed against the skin on yoru face. Screen and Cutter Just like a disposable razor, you're going to have to replace the screen and cutter from time to time. You don't hae to replace it quite as often though. Typically you can get a year out of it, so that is pretty good. Basically the screen is designed for the hair to go through, pushed up and shaved off by the razor. Over time that screen will become thin and have difficulty performing its task. Replacing these two things isn't that hard. You just pop it off, snap new one back on and you're set to go for more shaving. This is what the best electric shaver can do for you. Shaving Technique The best way for you to do this is against the grain. Now I know with a regular disposable razor you're not supposed to do this, but there is a specific reason why you do it with an electric shaver. Basically you have the screen, which is designed to let the hair go through and push it up. When you go against the grain the screen works much better at doing it's job and should be able to pull up all the hair shaving. Adjusting to a New Shaver Just like most things, you have to break it in before it is going to feel right. The same thing is true with electric shavers. You're going to have to give it sometime to feel right. Your skin and face will eventually get used to it after a few weeks. At this point it will feel pretty natural to you. |
