It's also a wet and dry shaver, so you put gel on your face to shave or you use on a dry face without any problems. The reason that it can run dry is that it has its own water infused hygienic solution that helps to clean away stubble, while keeping the blades fresh. It also has a way of keeping the blades lubricated, so it works while you're shaving. It also uses a linear motor that runs at 13,000 RPM.
