Shaving Mug Soap
The old way of shaving required you to have some shaving mug soap and doing things that way. I guess the best example of this would be in movies that take place in the past, like cowboy movies. You probably noticed that the shaving involved brushing a type of lather on your skin and using a blade or safety razor for shaving. Even though this seems like an old way of doing things, I have to say that it is actually smart and you'd be better off doing this then using your new Gillette shaver.
 
The reason why I like this so much is that you put the soap in a mug and you use your brush to lather it onto your face. This does two things for you. First, it will help exfoliate the skin and get rid of dead skin. The second thing it does help get the lather under the hairs and push it up. This makes getting a close shave much easier. What you need to get is shaving mug soap to be able to do this. You probably ran into a problem finding it because I have yet to see this in drug stores and places like that.
You'll be happy to know that this type of item is cheap. You can pick up shaving mug soap for just a few dollars if you want. I have a picture to the right of what is known as Williams Mug Shaving Soap and it is probably about the best you'll find on the market.
